Yes we would uplift the existing flooring and prepare the subfloor for you depending on the composition of your floor:
Wooden floors need ply boarding with 6mm marine ply and screeding, Concrete floors will need priming and screeding
If you are creating a new wet room, you will need to appoint a plumber to fit a specialist tray and create the fall on the floor down to the drain hole, You will also need any toilets or sinks removing from the room before fitting the flooring.
If you are just changing the flooring on an existing wet room you will need to appoint a plumber to remove the sink and toilet.
Sometimes if the existing flooring has failed we will need to uplift the flooring and leave the floor a couple of days to dry out before we can complete the works. Often these areas fail as water gets behind the upstands of the vinyl, In this case we would need to change the trims to the wall to make water tight.
When creating a wet room, the walls must be secure all the way to the floor - Sometimes there's gaps at the bottom which will need filling before fitting the new flooring - We normally go 10-15 cm up the wall, When fitting wall tiles or wall boards you will need to fit a H trim for the vinyl to fit into. This gives a waterproof transition between the wall product and the flooring.
