Premium carpets and flooring, brought to your Barnsley home
Barnsley homeowners don't need to travel to a showroom to choose well. Our free Choose at Home service brings a curated selection of carpet and flooring to you. Our consultant measures every room and you get a clear quote. Your floors are then fitted by Surefit's own fitting team. We are based in Doncaster, about 20 miles away via the A635 or the A1(M) and M1. We have served South Yorkshire as a family business since 1998.
Barnsley's housing ranges from Victorian stone terraces near the town centre to roomy 1930s semis in Kingstone and the detached family homes of Darton, Mapplewell and Dodworth on the western side. Further out, the villages around Cawthorne and Silkstone have stone cottages and barn conversions, which need a different approach altogether.
Choosing for Barnsley houses
Stone cottages and conversions
Thick walls, deep window reveals and uneven old floors suit natural textures. A loop or flatweave 100% wool carpet brings warmth without fighting the character of the building. On flagged or concrete ground floors, Karndean stone- or wood-effect luxury vinyl is a practical, beautiful alternative to cold tiles. We assess levels at the visit and include any preparation in the quote.
Family homes in Darton, Mapplewell and Dodworth
For busy households we often pair a hard-wearing wool-rich twist on the stairs and landing with a softer pile in the bedrooms. Quick-Step laminate or Karndean then runs through the hall and kitchen. Woven Axminster carpet from Brintons and Ulster Carpets is worth seeing in person for a principal living room or a feature staircase. They hold their looks for many years.

From the town centre to the western villages
We visit homes right across the borough, from the Victorian streets around Locke Park to the newer estates at Kingstone, Pogmoor and Dodworth, and out to Cawthorne and Silkstone. Many Barnsley customers like to see a first shortlist at home and then come to the showroom on a Sunday to compare the final two or three options side by side. Either way, the same consultant handles your project from first visit to fitting day.

Which Barnsley areas do you cover?
Barnsley town and the surrounding villages, including Darton, Mapplewell, Dodworth, Cawthorne, Silkstone, Royston and Wombwell.
