Flooring for Ackworth and the villages south of Pontefract
Ackworth is a group of villages south of Pontefract. High Ackworth, with its conservation area and the historic Quaker school founded in the eighteenth century, sits beside Low Ackworth and Ackworth Moor Top. Badsworth, Thorpe Audlin and Wentbridge, in its wooded valley, are close by. There is a lovely mix of stone cottages, Georgian houses, 1930s homes and newer detached properties. Being only about 16 miles from our Doncaster showroom, Ackworth is one of our closest West Yorkshire areas.
Surefit Carpets is a family-run business, trading since 1998, and an approved retailer for Karndean, Quick-Step, Brintons and Ulster Carpets. Our own team fits every floor.
Ideas for Ackworth homes
Cottages and Georgian houses in High Ackworth
In older houses, floors have often settled and walls are rarely straight, so careful preparation matters. Natural 100% wool carpet in a loop or flatweave suits cottage rooms. A woven Wilton carpet from Brintons gives a tailored finish on a Georgian staircase. On solid ground floors, Karndean stone-effect luxury vinyl is warm and authentic-looking.
Newer family homes
Detached homes around Ackworth Moor Top and the village edges often have open-plan kitchens and garden rooms. One continuous Karndean or Quick-Step floor makes the space feel larger and calmer. Upstairs, a soft, stain-resistant saxony from Ulster Carpets is ideal for family bedrooms.
Country lanes, clean floors
With fields and footpaths all around, a hard-wearing hallway and a dense stair carpet save a lot of cleaning.
