Carpets and flooring for Castleford homes, fitted by our own team
Castleford sits where the Aire and Calder meet. It is the birthplace of Henry Moore, home of the Tigers, and a town that has grown fast around Glasshoughton and junction 32 of the M62. Many families have moved into newer homes on the edges of town. Others are renovating the traditional houses of Hightown or the villages of Methley and Allerton Bywater. Surefit Carpets helps with both, bringing premium flooring to your door with our free Choose at Home service.
We are about 22 miles from Castleford, at our Doncaster showroom, via the A1(M) and M62. We have been a family-run business since 1998, and we are an approved retailer for Karndean, Quick-Step, Brintons and Ulster Carpets.
Popular projects in Castleford
Upgrading a newer home
Newer houses often come with basic flooring that soon looks tired. Swapping it for Karndean luxury vinyl downstairs gives a warm, quiet floor that is easy to clean. It can run through the hall, kitchen and cloakroom in one continuous design. Upstairs, a dense saxony or a wool-blend twist from Ulster Carpets or Brintons transforms how bedrooms feel.
Renovating a traditional house
In older terraces and semis, we start with the subfloor, levelling or boarding where needed. A hard-wearing 100% wool carpet on stairs and landings and Quick-Step laminate in the living room are practical choices for a modern family.
Riverside living
If you're near the waterfront or have a garden room facing the river, Karndean's water-resistant construction is a sensible, good-looking option.

Joining old and new
A common Castleford project is a traditional house with a modern extension, where floor levels and materials differ. Our consultant measures both, checks the subfloors and explains how we will join them, with a level transition where possible. That way the new floor looks as though it has always been there.

Castleford flooring questions
Do you have a Castleford showroom?
No. Our one showroom is in Doncaster, about 22 miles away. We bring samples to Castleford homes through our free Choose at Home service.
Which areas around Castleford do you cover?
Castleford, Glasshoughton, Whitwood, Hightown, Airedale, Methley and Allerton Bywater, plus nearby parts of the Wakefield district.
Can you replace builder-grade flooring in a new home?
Yes. Many customers replace the original flooring with Karndean downstairs and better carpet upstairs. We uplift the old flooring as part of the job if you need us to.
Can you match floor levels between an extension and the original house?
We check both subfloors at the free visit and recommend levelling or a suitable threshold so the transition is as smooth as possible.
